A detailed exceptional, quality coaching programme, that will train you on how to become an effective coach.
Teaching the basic skating principles, coaching format, warm up, skaters barre, planters and physiology. All from the comfort of… anywhere.
Our course will make you an accomplished Off Ice skater and will teach you how to skate off ice and then transfer those skills back onto the ice.
By completing our Off Ice Skating course, you will become an accredited City & Guilds coach which will allow for your passion and love of skating to turn into a business where you can earn an extra income by teaching your local community how to ice skate.
Course Intro
The City & Guilds Coach Education Accredited Programme is a comprehensive course taught by the creator and team at Off-Ice skates and the Skate Excellence Learn to Skate programme.
We offer you a chance to utilise your interest in skating by learning teaching techniques, new skills to help build a successful Off-Ice Skating business.
It is suitable for individuals who are looking to invest in or diversify on their ice skating career and are competent skaters, practise regularly and are looking to invest in or diversify their career.
Our course is available to everyone worldwide who would like to become an Off Ice Skating coach which will allow flexible-learning options of part-time weekday or weekend, in a virtual live classroom with our experienced tutors.
How Will I Learn?
- Virtual Learning covering the skills throughout the skating levels are covered in-dept.
- Comprehensive Written content on all the scripts required to deliver a lesson.
- Interactions with Tutors, via a team on WhatsApp group. You will get helpful, constructive and encouraging feedback on every test you submit, allowing you to grow into the best coach you can be.
- Engagement by participating with us daily in our online community, on regularly scheduled webinars, and via email.
- Accountability & Assessments, throughout the course, you will upload videos along the way.
- Personal Progress in engaged classes with skilled teachers and other pupils.
- Certification upon completion of the teacher training program you will become a certified coach with a City & Guilds accreditation.
What You Will Learn
This course is normally 12 weeks approximately 45mins per week in duration of virtual classroom, home study and practical sessions.
The City & Guilds Skate Excellence coach education accredited Programme will teach you the basic principles you'll need to teach off-ice skating including how to tailor programmes to suit individual needs and the most up-to-date and effective training methods.
Career Paths & Progression
Our Skate Excellence initiatives has been tried and tested in a third of the ice rinks in the UK and due to the popularity of ice skating we see this as an excellent opportunity to bring the convention sport of ice skating out in the community utilising our specially adapted skate.
Our Off Ice Skates will give you the flexibility to provide a wider range of skating activities out in the community on any flat surface.
Prerequisite
- Minimum age 18 yrs old to apply
- To be a competent skater
How Will I Be Assessed
Access to the course content, plus fully guided support all the way through certification.
Assessed every week to determine your knowledge of the Skate Excellence Learn to Skate syllabus and understanding of the coaching format. On the course, you will learn about the Skate Excellence learning format, the ingredients, syllabus and understanding the different levels and expected outcomes.
Required to perform the Warmup, Skaters Barre and Planters scripts and key elements of the Skate Excellence Learn to Skate programme via a virtual session at the end of Week 10.
Week 12 we will require you to complete a Question & Answer session with the Lead Tutor to test your comprehensive knowledge of all the topics covered in the program.
